Legend has it, thousands of soldiers were dying in the fields in the summer of 1864. Conditions were rough and disease spread. Water was non existent. A group fo soldiers banded together to pray for rain and within days a bolt of lightning hit the ground and a spring erupted from the earth. This new water source, which never stopped flowing, was dubbed Providence Spring.
