The temperatures might not show it, but fall is upon us here in Wisconsin. The leaves are changing colors, the pumpkins and apples are ready to be picked and it’s time to celebrate the harvest.
Our awesome and varied landscape means that all over the state there are different crops being celebrated and different ways to celebrate them. Cities across the Dairy State are celebrating the harvest and it’s time to join them.
Here, in no particular order, are 14 fall harvest festivals happening across the state in the coming weekend. Make plans to check one out:
- Nekoosa Giant Pumpkin Fest
Facebook/NekoosaGiantPumpkin Takes place October 7 and 8. Admission is $3 and parking is $5 on site or free with a shuttle from nearby schools. Huge pumpkin drop each day!
- Mayville Audubon Days
Facebook/audubondays Takes place October 6-8 with bed races, a parade, live music, a petting zoo and more. Most of the action is at Foster Park in Mayville.
- Gays Mills Apple Festival
Facebook/GaysMills Takes place September 22 -24. A pancake breakfast, fun run, parades a flea market and more mark this annual event.
- Union Grove Great Pumpkin Chuckin Fest
Facebook/uggreatpumpkin Takes places October 21 and 22 at the Racine County Fairgrounds. What could be better than marveling at feats of medieval engineering as pumpkins get flung across a field? Plus there’s a carnival, hay rides, presentations by the Racine Zoo, music and more. d

- Green Lake Harvest Fest
Facebook/GreenLake Takes places September 23 & 24 from 10 am-5 pm. There’s Car Show Sunday and a big parade on Saturday.
- Warrens Cranberry Festival
Facebook/CranFest Takes place September 22 - 24 from 7 am to 6 pm every day throughout the town of Warrens. Take a marsh tour, sample everything you can ever imagine, shop the art fair, watch the parade and so much more!
- Bayfield Apple Festival
Facebook.BayfieldApple Takes place October 6, 7 & 8, 2017, 10 am – 5 pm. For more than 50 years, this fall festival has been named one of the best in the country. More than 15 local orchards are within a few miles of the city limits.
- Wausau Harvest Fest
Facebook/wausauevents Takes place October 7 from 10 am - 2 pm on the 400 Block & Downtown Businesses. A pumpkin patch, pumpkin carving, pumpkin painting and more, a horse-drawn carriage ride, story time and more make this a totally family-friendly awesome day.
- Menomonee Falls Cheery Cherry Fall Fair
Cheery Cherry Fall Fair A arts and crafts fair, cherry booth, wine tasting, children’s area and more highlight this suburban fest on September 24 from 9 am to 4 pm at Village Park, Menomonee Falls (Appleton Avenue and Garfield Drive). There’s a $4 entrance fee.
- Mineral Point Cornish Fest
Cornish Fest Celebrating the Cornish history of this old mining town on September 29, 30 and October 1. There’s a ton of food, history and more to check out in this charming small town in the middle of the state.
- Sister Bay Fall Fest
CometoSisterBay Takes place Friday through Sunday, October 13-15. Tons of live music, a parade, pumpkin bowling, a classic car show and an arts and crafts fair are just some of the things happening at this Fall Festival.
- Milwaukee Harvest Fair
Takes place at Wisconsin State Fair Park, 640 S 84th St, West Allis 53214. A timber show, tons of music and fall fare highlight this festival.
