Life in Oklahoma might surprise newbies to our state. We have four distinct seasons (sometimes all in one day) and we fry most of our food, including our vegetables. We’re overly polite and interested in our neighbor’s lives (some would say nosy) but at the end of the day, we’re just simple people who enjoy good food and an easy-going life.
Here are 12 more things you might not know about life in Oklahoma.
- It gets hot here. Like for real.

- Our lakes are our ‘holy grail’ in summer.

- You’ll grow to love the thunderstorms.
