Have you ever wondered what Kansas City looked like just 40 years ago? Though the 1970s aren’t that long gone, it’s still fun to reflect on what has changed since then. I know the first thing I notice is just how many patterns they used to put on everything! Here’s a few vintage photos of our beautiful city (and it’s people) from the 70s. Enjoy!
- Our favorite stadiums being built circa 1970.
Chris Murphy/Flickr I wonder if they knew just how important they would be to us?

- Two boys getting ready to enjoy Worlds of Fun in 1975.
Jake Fowler/Flickr True happiness really is just a giant cone of cotton candy, isn’t it?
- A picnic at the park in the 1970s.
Jake Fowler/Flickr I haven’t heard of that root beer brand before, but that’s probably because I was born after this photo was taken! Is that a glass bottle?
If you’re enjoying these photos, you should definitely check out these photos from the 1960s and also from the 1950s.
