It’s Springtime again in Nashville, which can only mean one thing. We’re back to that time of year when we wake up and have to wonder whether we’ll find frost on the windshields of our cars or have to worry about the threat of tornadoes all afternoon. But all that aside, there’s a certain routine that all Nashvillians seem to go through every year as soon as the trees start to bloom. If you’re from Nashville, we’re sure you’ve done most of these yourself….
- They head to Radnor Lake
Michael Hicks - Flickr This is pretty much what Radnor Lake looks like in the spring, but what you can’t see are the throngs of people behind the camera all trying to enjoy the nice weather and take the same picture.
- They break out the grill.
apium - Flickr Nashville food was meant to be cooked on a grill, which is much more enjoyable in warmer weather.
- They get out in the water.
Denise Mattox - Flickr Percy Priest is full of swimmers, cliff jumpers, and boaters once it’s warm enough to get out on the water. And who can blame them? It’s beautiful out there!
- They look up the schedule for Musicians Corner.
Musicians Corner - Facebook Nashville is full of free music, but Musicians Corner in Centennial Park is some of the best. It takes place on Saturdays in the spring and fall.
- They get ready for playoff hockey.
Paul Nicholson - Flickr Because let’s be honest - the playoffs are basically a routine at this point.
- They pull out their summer clothes too early.
Denise Mattox - Flickr It’s very possibly, even likely that the first sign ofspring will get Nashvillians’ hopes up only to drop a dusting of snow within the week just to keep everybody thoroughly mixed up.
- They find restaurants with good patios…
Bartaco - Facebook Nashvillians love to eat, and eating outside is like a gift from heaven after the cold winter. This great patio is at the 12th South location of BarTaco. See you there?
- … Or great rooftops
Acme Feed & Seed. Like this downtown staple rooftop bar at ACME Feed & Seed.
- They head to the nearest flea market or garage sale.
Nashville Flea Market - Facebook Hey, we get it. Spring flea markets and garage sales are the perfect opportunity to go out and get some new stuff to replace the same old stuff you’ve been staring at all winter while you’re cooped up in your home.
- They drive like crazy people.
chapstickaddict - Flickr This one isn’t really a Spring-specific thing. It’s really more of a year-round thing. But, hey, we still love it, right?
If you’re not quite ready to venture outside yet, this food hall in South Nashville has everything you need.
